In May of 1991, former President George H.W. Bush elected to make Texas A&M University home to his Presidential Library. The site of the George Bush Presidential Library Complex, which houses the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum, the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Presidential Conference Center (APCC) and the Bush School of Government and Public Service, covers 90 acres on the West Campus of Texas A&M University. In March 2003, the George Bush Presidential Conference Center was renamed the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Presidential Conference Center.

Walter Annenberg

Walter H. Annenberg (1908-2002) was an editor, publisher, broadcaster, diplomat and philanthropist. He served as United States Ambassador to the Court of St. James’s from 1969 to 1974.

Leonore Annenberg

Leonore Annenberg (1918-2009) served as a chief of protocol for the United States of America. She was trustee emeritus of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, University of Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Orchestra Association.
