Event Permits
Texas A&M University hosts a wide range of events, each with unique requirements to ensure safety, compliance, and smooth campus operations. Some events require additional oversight and resources and therefore must go through a special event permit process established by University Standard Administrative Procedure 34.01.99.M0.01. This process helps to ensure that special events held on University property are conducted safely, comply with regulations, and with minimal disruptions to daily operations.
What is a special Event?
A Special Event Permit may be required for events that require coordination and resources between multiple departments due to their scale, uniqueness, complexity, or regulatory requirements. Review the guidelines to see if your event qualifies.

Applying For a Special Event
If your event requires a Special Event Permit, you should begin the permit process immediately after reserving your venue. From there, you have seven days to submit a Special Event Proposal in the Texas A&M Special Event Permit system. Once your proposal is reviewed and if it is accepted, you must complete the Special Event Permit application in accordance with the deadlines found in SAP 34.01.99.M0.01. Upon submission, the applicable university departments will review the details of your special event. This process does not assess event content; its sole function is safety and compliance. Your Special Event Permit will be issued once all requirements are met.
